I do appreciate these overviews, too. Although the commentators have different perspectives, it seems thay all agree that a big change is needed, particularly among the elites. I like Mr. Granier's framing of the matter using Schumpeter's theory of creative destruction, but I fear Mr. Cardin's last line, "...fasten your seatbelts", is the most likely prediction of what will occur. None of this change will be smooth. Maybe it is even too late, as we are currently experiencing a huge magnitude of adverse megatrends. I fear the dysfunction and disintegration will continue. We are in for a bumpy ride.
I like your overview, but asking Trump to solve the problems that he had a hand in creating is wishful thinking. He will double down on his bad policies from his last administration. Why? Because he still believes they were fantastic. This is a rinse and repeat Presidency. His idea of solving problems is foaming the runway with borrowed money like the developer he is. Worse than Biden, of course not. But still a mess we won’t recover from.
