Excellent article, Professor Robinson. I think the US needs to get over its "Francis Fukuyama" moment and foster cooperation with Russia. The big mistake, I believe, was not including Russia - after the fall of the Soviet Union - into a pan-European security agreement. Instead, it choose to expand NATO, which as you point out, has not always acted in a defensive manner, as well as interfere in Russia's "reddest of red lines"; i,.e., Ukraine.

Excellent article. As a citizen of both the U.S. and Russia, I think you describe both quite accurately.
